Step by step
From box
to map.
Get a SIM and add credit
A GPS tracker is just a small computer with a SIM card. Buy a prepaid SIM from any carrier shop or kiosk - Cosmote, Vodafone, or Nova all work.
- A tracker uses only a few MB per month - the cheapest prepaid plan with data is plenty.
- Top up / add credit in the shop, the carrier app, or online. Make sure the plan includes mobile data (not just calls).
- Turn off the SIM PIN before you use it: put the SIM in any phone > Settings > SIM > disable SIM PIN. A locked PIN stops the tracker connecting.
Put the SIM in and power the tracker
Insert the Nano SIM, then give the device power so you can configure it.
- The simplest test power is a Micro-USB cable to a computer or USB charger, or a 12V cigarette-lighter adapter.
- For a permanent install, wire it to the car (see Step 5).
- The status LED starts blinking as it searches for GPS and network.
Configure it (choose one method)
Point the tracker at the Erebos server. You only do this once - after that it reconnects on its own.
- Option A - Bluetooth app (recommended): works from any smartphone, no computer needed.
- Option B - USB Configurator: for Windows users who prefer a desktop tool.
- Both methods use the exact same Erebos connection settings shown below.
Add the device in Erebos
Sign in at app.erebos.gr > Devices > Add Device and enter the tracker's IMEI (printed on the device).
- Within a minute or two the tracker connects on its own.
- Your vehicle appears live on the map - you don't need to configure it again.
Install it properly (optional, for permanent use)
For everyday use, hide the tracker and wire it into the vehicle.
- Hide it out of sight - under the dashboard, behind a panel, in the glovebox. It must not be visible.
- GPS works through plastic and glass, but not metal - don't bury it under metal.
- Wiring: Red > +12V from a fused circuit (never straight to the battery terminals), Black > ground (metal chassis point), Yellow > ignition/ACC (optional).
- For a clean permanent install we recommend a qualified auto electrician. Always use a fuse.
Step 3, in detail
Two ways
to configure.
Bluetooth app - from any phone
- 01Install "Teltonika FMBT" from the App Store or Google Play (free).
- 02Open it, tap Connect, and choose your device (named like FMB920_XXXXXXX - the last 7 digits of the IMEI on the sticker).
- 03Enter the Bluetooth password: 5555
- 04Open the GPRS tab and enter the Erebos connection settings + your carrier's APN.
- 05Tap Save to device.
USB Configurator - desktop
- 01On a Windows PC, download the Teltonika Configurator (wiki.teltonika-gps.com) and install the USB driver (TeltonikaCOMDriver).
- 02There is no Mac version - on a Mac, use the Bluetooth app method instead.
- 03Connect the tracker by Micro-USB; the Configurator detects it automatically.
- 04Open GPRS, enter the settings + APN, then Save to device.

How long until it shows on the map?
The first GPS fix takes up to ~60 seconds under open sky. After that it reconnects automatically.
What does the LED mean?
Green blinking once per second = GPS working. Steady green = no GPS fix yet (move to open sky).
Should I buy 2G or 4G?
2G still works across Greece today, but networks are phasing it out. If you're buying new for the long term, choose a 4G model (e.g. FMC920).
How much data does it use?
Only a few MB per month - any small prepaid data plan is enough.
Do I have to reconfigure it?
No. Once configured it reconnects automatically after a power loss - no reconfiguration needed.
